Jasmine + Bardot

I love fun colour combinations that aren’t necessarily the norm, that’s why I immediately loved theJasmine Paint Pot Print Skirt from Collectif. The darker blue, turquoise and pale pink was a gorgeous combination and I knew it would have lots of possibilities for colours to wear on top.

The Jasmine Skirt is one of Collectif Clothing’s newer styles, we first saw it last season with theWoodland Bloom Print which has become one of my favourite skirts ever!
A simple gathered swing skirt and fitted waistband is always a welcome addition to a pinups wardrobe, especially if it lends itself well to multiple colour combinations like this one does.

The Jasmine Paint Pot Print Skirt is made from a cotton/spandex blend, is 26″ from waist to hem and comes from sizes 6-22. My waist of 27″ is between a size 8 and 10 so I sized up to a 10 however it is rather roomy so I think a size 8 would have been better. Because of the 3% spandex in the fabric, there is some minimal give to the waistband but not much.

The print reminds me of beautiful tiles and because of the colour palette of blue, turquoise and pink, you could pick any of these colours to wear on top. I chose to pair the Jasmine Skirt with the baby pink Bardot Boat Neck Lurex Jumper. I love this shade of pink and anything Lurex gets me excited- who doesn’t want sparkles in their sweater?

I went with my usual size 10 for this sweater but did find it on the tighter side especially in the arms- a size 12 would have probably been a more comfortable fit. For reference, I’m 36″ in the bust and 27″ in the waist but do have sizeable upper arms, around 13″ around.

The colour of this sweater did not disappoint and the lurex hasn’t made it super itchy. My only problem with the Bardot Sweater is that it’s very see-though which I wasn’t expecting. The knit is quite thin and so a flesh coloured bra is a must (even white won’t work right) and preferably you need a strapless bra as it’s quite a wide neckline.

Perhaps this problem has been compounded for me because the fit is tight and therefore the fabric is stretched more. I would bear this all in mind when ordering and consider sizing up.

The Bardot Sweatercomes in sizes 6-22 and is a Viscose/Lurex blend. It also comes in black, teal and champagne.

Since I decided to bring out the pink in the print of the Jasmine Skirt with the top, I accessorized mostly with blue and a few extra hints of pink.
